Forty Foot Designs, LLC operates the CommuterPal website and mobile applications. This policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our services.
Depending on the features you use, we collect:
An email address can be used to locate your existing account. Changing your sign-in method does not create a separate account or transfer your notes to another account.
We use information to authenticate users, maintain accounts and subscriptions, provide flight information, deliver requested alerts, store Personal Notes, process payments, respond to support requests, protect accounts, troubleshoot problems, and understand how our services are used.
Where supported, alerts and service communications may be delivered through push notifications, email, or SMS text messages. Mobile carrier charges may apply to text messages. We may also send occasional product updates by email. You can opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe instructions in those messages.
Personal Notes are stored on our servers and associated with your account. Optional device authentication adds protection when viewing notes in the app. Face ID, Touch ID, and Android biometric authentication are handled by the device's operating system; CommuterPal does not receive your fingerprint or facial biometric data.
We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers to operate CommuterPal, including hosting, payment processing, notification delivery, and IP-based location lookup. These services may process information needed to perform their functions. Push notifications use services provided by Apple, Google, and Firebase.
We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent fraud, or protect the service.
Payment details are processed through our payment providers. CommuterPal maintains subscription and transaction information needed to administer your account.
The website uses cookies to maintain browser sessions and preferences. The apps store session credentials, preferences, and certain information locally to support sign-in and app functionality. If you select Remember email or Account ID, that identifier is saved on your device until you clear the preference.
You can manage flight watches in CommuterPal and control notification permission through your device settings. Disabling notifications does not automatically delete your account or saved notes.
You can review and update available account information through Manage Account. For corrections or other privacy requests that cannot be completed there, contact us using the details below.
We retain information as needed to provide the service and meet security, accounting, and legal obligations. To request account deletion, contact us using the support link below. The Close account option in Manage Account deactivates your account and removes credit card data; it does not permanently delete all account data. Verified account-deletion requests are completed within 30 days and stop subscription billing. We permanently retain a minimal trial-eligibility record associated with your email address to enforce one 30-day free trial per email address and prevent resets of trial query allowances. This does not require retaining Personal Notes or your full account profile. See Delete your CommuterPal account for request instructions. Some records may need to be retained for legal or accounting purposes, and backup copies may remain until removed through our backup-retention process.
We use safeguards designed to protect account information and restrict access. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.
CommuterPal is intended for airline crewmembers and is not directed to children under 13.
We will post policy updates on this page and revise the date above. For privacy questions, account corrections, or deletion requests, contact:
